Continuing Education at the HVAC Institute
Right now in Washington State, HVAC Journeyman technicians are required to get 8 hours of continuing education a year to renew their licenses. Trainee hours are now at 16 hours per year of classroom education. We provide classes for 06A technician and administrator licensing, along with NATE prep & certification and EPA Certification.
EPA Certification & Testing
We also provide classes for EPA Certification and the testing that
- Core –General information: Must pass for any type of Certification
- Type I –Small appliances: Appliances fully manufactured, charged and hermetically sealed at the factory with less than 5 lbs. of refrigerant
- Type II –High pressure appliances: High pressure appliances that use a refrigerant with a boiling point between -58°and 50°F and very high pressure systems using refrigerants with boiling points below -58°F.
- Type III –Low pressure appliances: Appliances that use a refrigerant with a boiling point above 50°F.
- Universal –Earned upon passing all 3 “Types,” including Core
